Crowds were wowed by one of the most dramatic races that  Formula 1 has seen in a long time. The Brazilian Grand Prix, which hosted the final race of the year, saw Sebastian Vettel able to secure his world championship for Red Bull by a mere three points more than Fernando Alonso and Ferrari. This made Vettel the youngest ever triple World Champion. But McLaren truly dominated the race at Interlagos, São Paulo this weekend, with Lewis Hamilton starting from Pole and leading for a large portion of the race, to then have his endeavours cut short as he was shunted off the track by Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg. However with Jenson Button taking control of the situation and fighting his way to the front of the pack, eventually taking the chequered flag, McLaren ended third in the World Constructors’ Championship.

Timo Glock and Charles Pic performed to the max, achieving a brilliant race result for the Marussia F1 Team ending in 16^th and 12^th positions respectively. Timo had a great start to the race reaching 7^th position at one point, showing his experience and prowess, but was hit from behind by Jean-Eric Vergne and sadly for the Marussia F1 Team could not recover all the way to his advantage. The pressure was on for Charles to maintain his position in the race, but despite a sustained battle with Caterham’s Vitaly Petrov, the Russian managed to overtake Pic with 7 laps remaining, unfortunately costing Marussia F1 Team their 10^th position in the Constructor’s’ Championship…

Exciting news for all QNET sport fans! QNET has sponsored the bid to include squash in the 2020 Olympics, which took place at the Finals of the Hong Kong Squash Open last Sunday where members of the Olympic Committee (OOC) is making the big decision!

This Sunday, at the Hong Kong Squash Open, every spectator will be given a ‘Back The 2020 Squash Olympics Bid’ t-shirt with the QNET logo on.

Nicole David, World No. 1 Women’s squash player and Malaysia’s best known export, was in Hong Kong last weekend to play in the Hong Kong Squash Open (25/11 to 2/12) and to retain her title.
She has been the world number one for over six years now and in unrelenting form. 2012 has probably been the highlight of her career and she won all the first four tournaments she entered including the first ever World Series Finals in January, alongside the PSA event at Queen’s Club, London.

Small and slight, the girl nicknamed the Duracell Bunny is unbelievably fast on court and a great retriever with a fully rounded attacking force.

She is one of the top supporters and icons of the World Squash Federation’s bid for squash to be included in the 2020 Olympics.  “I’d gladly give up my 6 world titles for one Olympic Gold”, she said.   WSF has selected this year’s Hong Kong’s Squash Open to be the showcase event for the OOC to judge whether it’s good enough to be included in the 2020 Olympics.
